Praise be to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus
Brothers and Sisters in Eucharistic Jesus,
I am extremely happy to introduce myself to you. I am Fr. Jose Edapparakal, MCBS. I am a missionary religious priest from Kerala, India.
I was born in 21st November 1976 in Mananthavady, a small town in Kerala. I was ordained on 30th December 2003. I belong to MCBS, a religious congregation founded in Kerala by two holy priests, named Rev. Fr. Mathew Alakkalam and Rev. Fr. Joseph Paredam.
I come from a large family. Back home I have my parents, two brothers and four sisters. I am the youngest one in the family. One of my sisters is a nun and belongs to Carmelite congregation. Except for one of my sisters, all my family members live in Kerala.
As I mentioned I belong to MCBS. Our congregation has the vision of bringing all more close to the Blessed Sacrament to experience the loving presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. For this charism our congregation engages in missionary activities, social service, education to the poor, rehabilitating the homeless & the abandoned, and serve the socially discriminated section of the society. There are three other priests of my congregation serving in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
As priest one year I served in the minor seminary as the finance manager. Then I had a great experience of working in a mission station. There I was running a house for the abandoned people. After that I went for my higher studies and did a masters degree in formative spirituality and counseling. During those years I was the pastor of a parish in Bangalore. Then I was appointed as the spiritual director in the seminary. There I served two years. Then I had the opportunity to serve as the pastor in the Archdiocese of Eranakulam. Along with that I was animating the theological students as their spiritual father. After that I was asked by my superiors to come to the United States to continue my ministry here.
I am very thankful to all of you, especially to the archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Russ and the parishioners of all four parishes for opening me a warm atmosphere to serve the faithful in these parishes.
May God bless all of us.
Fr. Jose Edapparakal, MCBS.
